TRIBUNBATAM.id, KARIMUN - Eight Karimun residents were confirmed Covid-19 based on data from Riau Islands Covid-19 task force team, last Saturday (15/8/2020).
This number is more than the initial information received by Head of Karimun Health Service, Rachmadi, Friday (14/8/2020).
At that time, from the unofficial information, Kadinkes said there were five Karimun residents exposed to Covid-19.
Four of them were from Kundur.
The residents have been brought to Muhammad Sani Hospital for treatment since Friday.
It was only recently discovered that it turned out that not only five, but eight residents were exposed to Covid-19, based on the announcement of Class I Batam Environmental Health and Disease Control Engineering Center (BTKLPP).

"We hereby inform you that the official results from BTKLPP Class I Batam have come out and it turns out that the initial information was positive. After the official results came out, the results were 8 positive," said Head of Karimun Regency Health Office, Rachmadi.
Of the 8 cases, 5 were residents of Kundur Island and 3 others from outside Kundur who had undergone a swab examination on Karimun Besar Island.
Then 2 of the 8 new cases included the Tanjungpinang cluster and 6 others from the Kundur cluster.
Meanwhile, according to age, all patients were adults. The details are 3 male and 5 female.
"I apologize why so far it has been rather frugal in providing information before the official results come out. I'm worried about today's results, the initial information is 5 after officially it turns out to be 8 people," said Rachmadi.
Currently the patients have been treated in the isolation room on the sixth floor of the Muhammad Sani Regional General Hospital (RSUD), Karimun Regency.
The Karimun Regency Covid-19 Handling Acceleration Task Force directly tracked or traced people suspected of having close contact with the patients.
As a result, Task Force found 151 people who were suspected of having close contact. Of the 151 people, 137 were in Kundur and 14 others on Karimun Besar Island.
