TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM - The Head of Health Sector of Batam Covid-19 Handling Acceleration Task Force Team who is also the Head of Batam Health Service, Didi Kusmarjadi said the Batam City Government (Pemkot) would open VIP or independent isolation.
This VIP isolation uses apartments and hotels that are ready to serve patients who is positive Covid-19 in a classy manner. However, VIP isolation is only for asymptomatic patients.
"Alhamdulillah, there is one apartment and one hotel that are willing to be used as VIP or independent isolation places," said Didi by telephone, Monday (9/28/2020).
He said the apartments and hotels that are willing to become VIP isolation areas are Baloi and Hotel Sentosa. Both of these lodgings also provide medical personnel.
"The person in charge is still from the Galang Island Covid-19 Hospital (RSKI) and the medical personnel from there. This has been discussed with the head of the Galang Island Covid-19 Hospital," explained Didi.
Regarding the cost, Didi said, later it would be borne by the patient concerned.

This is because VIP or independent isolation is based on the patient's request if he does not want to be treated at a referral hospital.
There are also rates ranging from IDR 700,000 to IDR 800,000 per night. The temporary isolation will be carried out for 14 days.
Asked whether there was special treatment for patients who could take advantage of VIP isolation, Didi said there wasn't.
All patients can benefit from this VIP isolation as long as the person is without symptoms.
Furthermore, Didi said, for now the number of positive patients with Covid-19 in Batam has reached 1,548 cases. There were an additional 34 new cases on Monday (9/28/2020) this afternoon.
Of that number, 527 cases are still being treated and 47 cases have died.
"And, there were 974 patients who recovered," concluded Didi. (*)
