One third of Batam's Hang Nadim International Airport Area will be Managed by KPBU

Hang Nadim International Airport is built in a very strategic area, namely the Southeast Asia region, and is traversed by the flow of domestic and foreign flights.

TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM  -  Until now, the Airport Management Cooperation (KPBU) auction process is still ongoing.

Batam Business Entity plans to announce the winner by the end of 2021 at the latest. 

After the KPBU auction winner is announced, then a third of the Hang Nadim Airport area will be managed. 

This was revealed by the Director of BUBU Hang Nadim Airport and Information Communication Technology (TIK) of BP Batam, Amran. 

"The time line for determining the winner of the auction is at the end of the year. Then one third of the airport area will be handed over to be managed," Amran said at the BP Batam Building, Wednesday (10/2/2021).

Regarding the development and management design of Hang Nadim in the future it will be dynamic.

Because later the development management will be transferred to KPBU. This includes the revitalization of terminal 1 and terminal 2. 

Before determining the winner, he said, BUBU Hang Nadim's management will prepare many things.

Such as asset preparation that will be handed over to the winner.

According to him, it is important to take strategic steps to deal with the current impact of Covid-19 in the field of airport management.

Starting from the airline, airnav and its derivatives at the airport were particularly hard hit. 

"We will also clean up to meet the needs in supporting Batam city development," he explained.

They will work on raising the standard of service at Hang Nadim.

Starting from the handling of traffic jams, the availability of taxis and also public transportation.

Then, the availability of trolleys at the arrival terminal. 

The entire series of stages of the implementation of this project auction will end with the signing of the KPBU Agreement scheduled for May 3, 2021.
