TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno said the facilities at the Nongsapura Port in Batam, Riau Islands, were adequate to accommodate the travel bubble scheme.
"From my observations, we are ready to go. And in the next few days, they will ensure their readiness so that later when the Coordinating Minister for the Economy (Airlangga Hartarto) announces it, it will immediately operate," said Sandiaga on the sidelines of his visit, Friday (1/21), quoted from the official statement of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf).
The travel bubble scheme connects Indonesia with a number of countries based on a number of provisions.
Sandiaga added that the trial schedule for the Batam-Bintan-Singapore travel bubble would be announced.
Meanwhile, according to the Governor of the Riau Islands, Ansar Ahmad, the province was quite successful in handling the Covid-19 pandemic.
He continued that the percentage of vaccinations in the Riau Islands had reached 102 percent for the first dose, and about 90 percent for the second dose. (*)
