Batam Center International Harbour Reportedly Will Move, Here The Answer of PT Synergy Tharada

TRIBUNBATAM.id - Batam Center international Harbour is rumored to be moving along with reclamation activities around the port which were carried out some time ago.

So what did PT Synergy Tharada's management say as the harbour manager about the news?

Operational Manager of PT Synergy Tharada Nika Astaga asserted that the operational cooperation (KSO) of his party with Batam Business Entity called Badan Pengusahaan (BP) is still running until 2024.

Therefore, Synergy Tharada will continue to carry out its responsibilities until cooperation contract ends.

"Circulating the issue of harbour being moved, we do not know. What is clear, an official letter stating harbour will be moved, does not exist," said Nika, Tuesday (10/9) at Batam Center International Harbour.

It also does not want to be affected by this spreading issues.

On the other hand, Nika said, three years before KSO harbour management ended, a new tender would be opened.

BP Batam has informed this matter to his side.

"So in 2021, the tender has begun," she said.

The matter of preparation for KSO ended, Nika claimed there was no special preparation.

It continues to provide excellent service to harbour service users.

For the sake of satisfaction, passenger comfort. This is in line with the government's program to increase tourist visits to Batam.

"We don't care about that (preparation). What we think about is how to keep excellent service. If we think about it, it will not serve people from the heart," Nika said.

What is clear, if given the trust again, Synergy Tharada will comeback to manage Batam Center International Harbour.

If not, maybe it will manage other fields.

Previously, Head of Batam Harbour Management Institution, Nasrul Amri Latif, said that cooperation contract between BP Batam and PT Synergy Tharada will end in 2024. Three years earlier - 2021, BP Batam will open a tender to find its new manager.

"The contract will end in 2024, so 3 years before that we have started to open new tender," Nasrul said, last July.

This tender, he continued, is open to both old managers and new managers. The new contract for port management is planned to be valid for 20 years.

BP Batam hopes, whoever the organizer will be, services provided can be better.

While the matter of moving position for Batam Center international Harbour, Nasrul admitted, there had been a company that applied for permit to open new harbour.

Its position is not far from old position of Batam Center international Harbour at this time.
