TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM - The Great Mosque II of Sultan Mahmud Riayat Syah Batam today has been opened to the public and made as a location for Friday prayers for the first time, Friday (09/20/2019).
The mosque that located in Tanjunguncang was spent a construction budget of IDR. 260.852.456,000 taken from the Batam City Budget or called Anggaran Pendapatan dan Belanja Daerah (APBD).
The construction of this Great Mosque II became a multi-year project, the mosque was built from 2017 to 2019.
The Great Mosque II was built on an area of 41,422 square meters, while the building area of 57,144 square meters.
The Great Mosque II is able to accommodate the muslim worshipers with a capacity of 24, 536 people.
The mosque looks more beautiful and elegant because it is decorated with 8 membrane umbrella units with a height of 17 meters, the width of each membrane umbrella is 25x25 meters.
Sultan Mahmud Riayat Syah Mosque is also decorated with 9 domes, where the main dome is 1 piece with a size of 46.42 M, while the other domes are 4 units with a size of 13.5 meters and then beautified with 4 small domes with each dome size of 10.64 meters.
