The epicenter of the earthquake was 3.38 latitude, 128.43 east longitude (40 km northeast of Ambon-Maluku).
The earthquake has no tsunami potential.
Ad-interim Head of the Center for Data and Information (Kapusdatin) Department National Disaster Management (BNPB) Agus Wibowo said, due to this earthquake, the latest damage report, namely a cracked bridge in Ambon and a Pattimura University building was slightly damaged.

"The latest damage report from the BNPB Pusdalops, 1 cracked bridge in Ambon, and a Pattimura University building were slightly damaged," Agus said in a written statement on Thursday (9/26/2019).
Based on the analysis of http://realtime.inasafe.org, it was mentioned that this earthquake occurred with a maximum intensity of VII-VI MMI.
"This value indicates strong shaking and the possibility of causing damage to the buildings that are not an earthquake resistant," said Agus.
