BMKG: Some Areas of Indonesia Predicted in Rain, These Are The Lists

TRIBUNBATAM.id - The results of the monitoring of the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Department (BMKG) on Thursday (9/26/2019) show the current atmospheric conditions in Indonesia.

Head of BMKG Meteorology Division, R. Mulyono Rahadi Prabowo said, there are several things that need to be considered and this is related to the potential for rain in a week ahead.

First, air pressure in Indonesia generally ranges from 1,012 to 1,014 hPa.

Second, a tropical depression was observed around the Pacific Ocean east of the Papua Sea with a pressure center of 1,008 hPa moving west with a maximum speed of 30 knots. 

Third, cyclone circulation emerged around the northern West Papua. 

Mulyono also said that sea surface temperatures generally range from 26-32 degrees celsius with anomalies of sea surface temperature (+1 degree celsius - +3 degrees celsius) positive in the Selat Malacca, South China Sea, North Natuna Sea, Selat Makassar, Teluk (Bay) Tomini, Sulawesi Sea, Teluk Cendrawasih, and North Pacific Ocean of Papua.

From the observation, Mulyono said that in general, moderate to heavy intensity rain could potentially occur in Aceh, North Sumatra, West Sumatra, Riau, Jambi, West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, West Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, Papua, and West Papua. 

These are the following details the weather forecasts for Indonesia in the next week, valid from 27 September to 3 October 2019.

Sumatra

In general, the island of Sumatra will experience the cloudy sunny weather until light rain. The areas that have the potential to experience moderate to heavy intensity rain are Aceh, North Sumatra, West Sumatra, and Jambi. 

Kalimantan

Generally the island of Kalimantan will experience the cloudy sunny weather until light rain. While the areas that have the potential to experience moderate to heavy intensity rain are West Kalimantan, East Kalimantan and Central Kalimantan. 

Sulawesi

Generally the Sulawesi Island region will experience the cloudy sunny weather until light rain.

Potential moderate to severe rainfall is detected in the regions of West Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi and Southeast Sulawesi.
