TRIBUNBATAM.id - The mayor who is also Head of Business Entity (BP) Batam, Muhammad Rudi, admitted that he had not found a solution for investor complaints related to electricity tariffs which were considered expensive.

If the tariff for the industry is lowered, it will have an impact on PLN's ability.

He will call investors who want to run production in Batam.

The plan is, to hold discussions for find solutions, so investors could continue to run their businesses in Batam.

"Later we will meet with the company. The solution offered, tariff of 10 hours (operations) is a thousand. For 14 hours and above, so that's all. It's not clear," said Rudi.

Meanwhile, if this PLN is reduced, they cannot be subsidized. This problem arose after Rudi revealed complaints from investors who had opened an iron management business over electricity tariffs.

"If oftenly blackout, who is responsible," he said.

Companies engaged in the management of metal or iron, complained if the tariff to be charged was almost twice at normal rate. If you want a normal rate, then electricity usage is done only at night.

Previously, Rudi said the investor was offered, if you want to use electricity at cheap rates, then at night. So they were asked to work at night.

"If you work in the middle of the night, you will get a cheap price. If you work during the day, it will be expensive," said Rudi.

It was stated, reports received, normal prices around a thousand, would be subject to new tariffs that were considered expensive. The fare is around 1,800.

"So there is a special classification. What is common is only a thousand, if the 1,800 specifically, it means that it disrupts investment," he said.

Rudi said he was confused by the regulation from PLN. But judged, that condition can occur because there is not enough electricity available.

Therefore, Rudi plans to find a third party of provide electricity for investors.

But certainly, the decision will be taken after meeting with PLN Batam.
