The Rare of Premium and Pertalite in Batam, Pertamina Blames Luxury Cars, 'Should use Octane 90'

TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM -  The scarcity of fuel, whether diesel, premium, and pertalaite, recently has made the citizens of Batam feel uneasy.

The length of the queue of motorized vehicles, both cars and motorcycles, seems to be a common sight in the city of Batam, not only in the city of Batam, but in a number of regencies in the Riau Islands province.

From this scarcity, Disperindag, Pertamina, and the Riau Islands Regional Police held a press conference which took place at the Riau Islands Police on Tuesday (8/10/2019). 

On that occasion, the head of Batam's regional Pertamina, Awan Raharjo, denied the issue of reducing the fuel quota by Pertamina as it was spread publicly

"So we want to clarify regarding Pertamina's fuel reduction that it's not true," said Awan

Awan also said that the distribution carried out by his party was exactly as specified.

He also invited to reflect on who's made the replacement at the gas stations in the city of Batam. 

"Let's see the queues that occur, mostly are the luxury cars, where the luxury cars should fill the octane 90 but instead fill the premium fuel," said Awan

He also explained that luxury cars should refuel using Octane 90 in accordance with the user manual. 

When asked the strict rules governing according to the type of vehicle, as explained above, Awan said there were no rules related to that.

"We're only in the education stage," he told to the Media Crew

On this occasion, Gustian Riau, Kadisperindag Batam City, said that the availability of diesel and premium for 2019 was sufficient.

"The stock of Solar and Premium was sufficient for 2019," Gustian said. (Tribune Batam.id/Alamudin)
