TRIBUNBATAM.id - A recent study reveals one fruit that can overcome male fertility problems. The fruit is tomato.
This fact was revealed following the completion of research at the University of Sheffield, England. Mentioned, there are compounds in tomatoes that can help in overcoming fertility problems in men.
These compounds are lycopene, pigments and food supplements, which give the tomatoes a red color.
This pigment can improve the overall sperm quality, starting from the size, shape and the ability to "swim".
The researchers said the findings could reduce the need for invasive fertility treatments in the future.
The reason is, more than 40 percent of all cases of infertility are caused by an abnormal sperm production or function.
However, it is also important to note, this study was only involved the healthy participants.

In other words, consuming lycopene so far has only been shown to increase their healthy sperm.
This research was conducted by recruiting the 60 fit respondents in aged between 19-30 years.
They were asked to take two LactoLycopene tablets (equivalent to five cans of cooked tomatoes) per day.
However, only half of the respondents were given real pills, and the other half (unconsciously) received a placebo (an empty drug).

After 12 weeks of testing, the researchers found that those who used LactoLycopene had nearly 40 percent of sperm that swam faster, as well as an increase in sperm size and shape.
Professor Allan Pacey, Head of the Department of Oncology and Metabolism, Sheffield University, who is also the lead author in this study, revealed his statement.
He admitted, initially did not expect that at the end of the study there would be differences in sperm from men who used the tablets that containing the LactoLycopene and placebo.
However, Pacey continued, when the results were revealed, there was a dramatic increase in those who consumed that tablets.
