Government decided to increase the Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) and Regency / City Minimum Wage (UMK) by 8.51 percent by 2020. Here's the Circular.
This is known based on the Circular or called (Surat Edaran) of the Minister of Manpower Number B-m / 308 / HI.01.00 / X / 2019 dated October 15, 2019 concerning Submission of National Inflation Rate and Gross Domestic Product Growth in 2019.
Based on the circular, the increase in the UMP and UMK in 2020 is based on data from the National Statistics Department (BPS) which says national inflation is 3.39 percent and national economic growth is 5.12 percent.
"Thus, the 2020 UMP or UMK increase is based on the national inflation and national economic growth data, which is 8.51 percent," reads a circular signed by the Minister of Manpower, Hanif Dhakiri, Thursday (10/17/2019).
Based on Article 63 PP No. 78 of 2015 concerning of Wages, for regions where the minimum wage in 2015 is still below the value of decent living needs (Kebutuhan Hidup Layak), the minimum wage must be adjusted to the same as the KHL, no later than the determination of the minimum wage in 2020.
There are seven provinces that have to adjust the UMP with the KHL, namely Central Kalimantan, Gorontalo, West Sulawesi, East Nusa Tenggara, West Papua, Maluku and North Maluku. (*)
