Wika Wins First Place in the International Infrastructure Competition in Singapore

TRIBUNBATAM.id - PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (Wika) won first place in the international infrastructure competition, "International Year in Infrastructure 2019", in Singapore, Thursday (10/24/2019) night.

This state-owned company is the best in the "Going Digital Advancements in Bridges" category. 

Award as the first winner was handed over directly by the Senior Director, Bentley Construction Operation, Mark Hattersley to the Engineering Manager of the General Civil Department I Wika, Fery Safaria.

Also present to accompany and witness the award were, among others, the Operations Division Manager of the Building Department, Roem Olifwan, BIM Manager, Romi Ramadhan, Engineering Manager, Tjatoer Wahyudi and Rizky Yusuf Ramadhan as Bridge BIM Engineer.

According to Ferry, this achievement shows global recognition of the performance and performance of the Wika Building Information Modeling (BIM) team.

Wika outperformed 2 finalists from Italy, Italfer S.p.A and Shenzen Municipal Design & Research Institute, Co., Ltd., from China.

For information, the 2019 International Year of Infrastructure event was attended by 60 countries in the world, 440 organizations and 571 project nominations. 

The first prize of the international competition which was inscribed by Wika was the second time in the last two years.

In the event that took place in England in 2018, Wika became the first Indonesian representative to successfully enter the nomination as well as appear as the winner.

They are the best for the "Environmental Engineering" category for the application of Building Information Modeling (BIM) in landslide disaster planning projects in Bogor, as well as the "Bridges" category for its application in the Teluk Lamong Flyover development project. 

Recognition from global companies like Bentley, shows that BIM has now played an important role for the success of the Wika project.

Its application is proven to be able to provide more accurate planning and produce efficiencies in terms of work time and cost. (*)
