TRIBUNBATAM.id - The leader of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), Abu Bakar al-Baghdadi, reportedly killed himself when invaded by US special forces.
News of Baghdadi's death occurred after US President Donald Trump wrote a tweet on Twitter that read "Something big has just happened".
Reported by AFP and the Daily Mirror Sunday (10/27/2019), Abu Bakar al-Baghdadi blew up a suicide bomb vest after learning that the chance was small.
US media quoted internal sources as saying the ISIS leader was the target of an operation that was directly approved by Trump.
Long been hunted by the US-led coalition, Baghdadi has been reported dead several times in recent years.
To ABC News, US sources said they would conduct biometric examinations to ensure that the target was truly Baghdadi.
While Newsweek quoted Defense Ministry officials as saying he was "convinced" Baghdadi was killed, and said that it was only a matter of time.
White House spokesman Hogan Gidley announced, Trump would provide important information at 09.00 local time.
A native of Iraq and around 48 years old, Abu Bakar al-Baghdadi claimed suicide bombings and attacks targeting thousands of people in 2010-2013.

The group was included as a terrorist organization because it was accused of committing war crimes. Like beheading hostages.
Baghdadi is known to rarely appear in public. In April 2014, he briefly appeared in a video calling on his followers to "take revenge" for the death of ISIS members.
Then in September, ISIS released a video recording that claimed to be from Baghdadi. Contains praise for their operations in the region.
