Although Batam City Government has tried to parse the flood point by making adequate drainage channels, in fact the flooding still occurs.

Last Saturday (10/26/2019), the rain which flushed Batuaji area made road in Jalan Brigjen Katamso paralyzed, due to flooding.

Though this rain did not last more than an hour.

A few days ago, the road section in Batuampar Subdistrict, around Jalan Duyung, was also flooded.

As a result, many 2-wheeled vehicles broke down due to the reckless rider broke through a puddle of water.

Mayor of Batam, Rudi said, the problem of flooding was still the focus of work in his leadership.

He also admitted, overcoming the problem of flooding is not an easy job.

"Like Jodoh yesterday it was flooded, even though I opened a large drainage door, but it still flooded," said Rudi, Saturday at BP Batam Building.

The problem is, when it rains heavily, the rain water cannot directly flow into its mouth.

There is a barrier that makes it difficult for the rainwater in the drainage.

On the other hand, there are still many homeowners and businesses in Batam that close waterways or drainage in front of their homes or businesses.

This also has an impact on the course of rainwater flow.

Therefore, for the strategy of flood management it cannot be only from Batam Government.
