BPJS Health Contributions Goin Up, What is Sri Mulyani's Response?

TRIBUNBATAM.id - Today, Wednesday (10/30/2019) the government officially issues the rules for increasing BPJS Health contributions.

In the rules listed in Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 75 of 2019 concerning Amendments to Perpres Number 82 of 2018 concerning Health Insurance signed by President Joko Widodo on October 24, 2019, the amount of contributions for Non-Wage Participants (PBPU) and Non-Workers up to double. 

When asked for a response, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati was reluctant to comment.

She also chose to remain silent when asked by reporters related to it after the implementation of the Oeang Day Ceremony in Jakarta, Wednesday (10/30/2019). 

As for before, she had explained the meaning of the 73rd Oeang Day and the Youth Pledge (Sumpah Pemuda) at length.

As is known, in Article 34 of the Perpres, the tuition fees of Non-Recipient Participants (PBPU) or class III independent participants with service benefits in class III care classrooms increased from Rp. 25,500 to Rp. 42,000 per month per participant. The increase is Rp 16,500.

In addition, the contribution of independent class II with the benefits of services in class II treatment rooms increased from Rp. 51,000 to Rp. 110,000 per month for each participant.

While BPJS Health membership fees with service benefits in class I treatment rooms doubled from Rp 80,000 to Rp 160,000 per month for each participant. (*)
