KTM Resort's Restaurant Burned Down, Employee Claimed Hear Explosion in Kitchen

TRIBUNBATAM.id - Karang KTM Resort Restaurant, Jl. Colonel Soegiono, Tanjungpinggir Village, Sekupang District, Batam City, Riau Islands (Kepri), caught fire on Sunday (11/18/2019) night.

Manager of KTM Resort Batam, Djui Tjie Ning, revealed the only part of resort that caught fire was sea food restaurant on the seafront.

"It is estimated at 00.45 WIB," he said.

According to employee witness there was an explosion from the back of kitchen.

Fire was reported to have quickly spread through wooden restaurant building.

The condition of restaurant itself is quiet from activity.

According to employee, the fire was suspected to have increased at around 01:30 WIB.

Police are still investigating the cause of burning wooden restaurant.

Provisional estimates due to explosion from a gas cylinder.

Djui Tjie Ning, also claimed not to giving much comment about the incident.
