TRIBUNBATAM.id - Batam City Tourism is increasingly supported by the holding of an international competition event, Batam Tourism International Marching Championship (BTIMC) in 2020.

The competition organized by Cakra Bramastra Event Organizer will take place for eight consecutive days, precisely on 8 to 15 September 2020.

President Director of Cakrawala Bramastra Event Organizer, Surya Wijaya said, Batam was chosen as the venue for this event because of its strategic location.

"Batam was chosen to hold this event because it has a lot of amenities and facilities, one of which is because it's close to Singapore, so it becomes a location targeted by participants from Indonesia itself," he said, in the agenda of BTIMC Press Conference at Gedung Lembaga Adat Melayu (LAM) in Batam Center, Batam, Riau Islands, Tuesday (11/19/2019).

Surya said the event would be even more special because it presented total prize of IDR 1 billion.

"On November 28, 2019 there will be Percussion Clinic as well, at cost of IDR 50 thousand, the participants can get certificates and snacks. AMBC President also attended the agenda, "he said.

Surya said, till now there were 12 countries that had confirmed they would participate in this competition, such as Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Japan, Philippines, China, Singapore, Hong Kong, Myanmar, South Africa, Taiwan and United States.

Surya said BTIMC competition was not just a competition that carried out ceremonies, but there were series of activities carried out.

"But we also conducted a roadshow of activities held from January to August," he said.

The competition which targets 3,500 participants is expected to get full support from the government, especially in terms of publication and site preparation.

Head of Batam City Tourism Department, Ardiwinata said his party strongly supports the competition.

"Batam is able to hold the competition because Batam has lot of access ranging from lodging to transportation access," he said.
