Here's HIV/AIDS Data in Batam Since 2014
Human Immunodeficiency Viruses (HIV) and Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) data in Batam change for every year. So what happened to this year
TRIBUNBATAM.id - Patients with Human Immunodeficiency Viruses (HIV) and Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) in Batam City changes from year to year.
Until October 2019, 7,038 people were infected with HIV and 2,604 other people were positive for AIDS.
Whereas 857 people died.
The spread of AIDS is known to have originated from localization of Mat Belanda, Batam City.
In the last five years since 2014, AIDS sufferers in Batam City have tended to decrease compared to HIV sufferers.
From data provided by Head of Batam City AIDS Commission (KPA) Secretariat, Pieter P. Pureklolong noted, the number of AIDS sufferers in 2014 reached 289 people.

For 2015, there were 274 people, while in 2016 there were 304 people.
Whereas for 2017 to October 2019, there were 270, 131, and 103 positive people suffering from AIDS.
The increase in AIDS sufferers occurred on 2015 to 2016.
Initially only around 274 people in 2015, but entering 2016 there was an increase of 30 patients.
So this year, the total AIDS positive sufferers became 304.
And most people died from contracting HIV or AIDS in 2015 with total of 89 people.
Meanwhile, the most HIV sufferers since they were first discovered in Batam till now, have occurred in 2017, totaling 768 people.
The most significant increase occurred between 2016 and 2017, as many as 74 people.
Initially only 694 inhabitants, due to the increase of 768 inhabitants.
