1. Think about the reasons why you should shop

Lee's research of 12 different shopping experiences found that people have different goals when they shop.

There are those who really want to buy necessities, compare prices before choosing a particular brand, and check various discounts.

Before deciding to shop, think first of the reasons why you should go to a shopping mall and buy something. Also think about whether it can lead to impulsive spending. 

2. Create a shopping list

"Focus on what you need, not what you want," Lee said.

According to him, you must be careful with the justification about the function of the goods. For example, you lie to yourself that certain items do you need, when in fact not.

So, make a shopping list of items that you really need. 

3. Arrange the budget

Unfortunately, many people don't have the discipline to stick to the shopping list when they get to the shopping center. Finally, shopping is inevitable.

Lee said, to avoid the frenzy of shopping behavior, arrange a budget so that you are more careful when choosing each item before buying.
