90 Ships Will Serve Passengers in Batam During the Homecoming of Christmas and New Year

In Christmas and the New Year there will be an increase in the number of sea transport passengers up to 1.84 percent or around 1,191,786 passengers.

TRIBUNBATAM.id - Welcoming the surge in increased homecoming flows for Christmas 2019 and the New Year 2020, the Office of the Port Authority (KSOP), Sekupang, Batam, has prepared 90 units of homecoming ships.

This was conveyed by the Head of Batam City Port Authority, Barlet Silalahi.

The 90 ships will serve travelers during Christmas and the New Year. 

"For the 90 units of ships, marine from the center has been checked, and all ship documents are complete, so the ship will just follow the sailing schedule," Barlet said, Friday (12/20/2019).

He estimates, in Christmas and the New Year there will be an increase in the number of sea transport passengers up to 1.84 percent or around 1,191,786 passengers, compared to the realization of sea transportation during Christmas 2018 and New Year 2019.

He estimates, the surge in passengers will occur on December 21, 2019 and December 28, 2019 and January 4, 2020.

Barlet continued, if the supply of ships was inadequate, later on, his party would have coordinated with the government to involve the navigation ships and kplp.

Not only that, KSOP also has conducted the checks on all ships in ports throughout Batam.
