Telescope Equipped with Special Filters, Batam Residents Can See Solar Eclipse at Engku Putri Plain

TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM - Ring solar eclipse that can be witnessed in 7 provinces in Indonesia including Batam on (12/26/2019) is being a special attraction for residents. 

Batam residents who are curious can come to the Engku Putri Plain at Batam Center to see the phenomena of the ring solar eclipse.

Adisetyo, from the Jakarta Amateur Astronomy Association (HAAJ), revealed that his party invited residents to see an eclipse using a telescope that he and his team had prepared. 

"We are indeed preparing the Telescope to then be loaned to residents, as a means of education from us," said Adi.

Adi also revealed that this telescope has been equipped with special filters that are safe for viewing solar eclipses. 

"So this Telescope is equipped with a Black Polymer filer, this filter will only emit one in 100 thousand incoming sunlight. So it is safe for the eyes, "continued Adi.

Besides on the Engku Putri plain, HAAJ has also prepared telescopes in two other places in Batam City.

"For the purposes of our video and photo recording there are also two teams at other points. We are in the Barelang bridges and Baloi area, later there will be able to take photos and record videos, "Adi said.
