Welcoming New Year 2020, Batam Government Holds Fireworks Party at Engku Puteri

TRIBUNBATAM.id - On the New Year's eve, there will be fireworks parties in several locations, one of them is Dataran Engku Puteri, Batam.

Organized by Adhya Tirta Batam, Batam City Government (Pemko) Batam and Batam Business Entity (BP).

"If Christians can do this, please do it. If other religions can do this, please do it. There is no prohibition, as long as it is not forbidden," Batam Mayor Muhammad Rudi said in his remarks at the inauguration for employees in Batam City Government Building on Monday (12/30/2019).

He admitted, because there was a circular from the side that he could not carry out, as Mayor of Batam, he still followed the tastes of his citizens.

At Dataran Engku Puteri, there is a fireworks party, at Sultan Mahmud Riayat Syah Mosque there is tauziah that is delivered by Ustad Abdul Somad.

"I am the Mayor for citizens. Please choose the event you want to participate in. Neither Engku Puteri or Batuaji Mosque. Please choose which one you want," said Rudi.

Similar to Deputy Mayor of Batam, Amsakar Achmad admitted that during New Year's Eve, there will be 2 big agendas.

First in Dataran Engku Puteri, second in Sultan Mahmud Riayat Syah Batuaji Mosque.

"There is a fireworks party supported by ATB. We hoped these 2 events can make it possible for our year-end tourism," said Amsakar in front of Batam City DPRD Office.

If the public wants to listen to UAS lecture, please come to Sultan Mahmud Riayat Syah Mosque.

And those who want to see The Titan and Fireworks are welcome to join in Dataran Engku Puteri.

He added that some hotels also make their New Year's Eve events in their own way.
