JOKOWI Will Visit Natuna, Isdianto have Prepares Special Request to the President, What's It?

TRIBUNBATAM.id - Indonesian President Joko Widodo visits Natuna today, Wednesday (01/08/2019).

In the agenda of the visit, the Ad-interim Governor of Riau Islands, Isdianto immediately departed to Natuna Regency. 

"Yes, this afternoon I'll go to Natuna too, Mr. President will reviewing Natuna," he said, Tuesday (1/7/2020). 

He conveyed, the arrival of the number one person in Indonesia was in order to review the problems that occurred in Natuna waters.

"We also want to ask Natuna to become a special district, in addition to its vast sea, also directly borders with foreign countries," he said. 

Isdianto continued, he would ask for the help ships with large capacity so that the fishermen could go to the sea till the middle. 

"I also want to convey, so that security to be tightened even more in these waters, so that our fishermen do not feel afraid," he said. 

Hundreds of Pantura Fishermen Sent to Natuna

At least 120 fishermen from North Coast (Pantura) said they were ready to move to Natuna to go to sea.

Besides wanting to catch fish, they also want to enliven the Natuna waters which are currently heating up after Chinese coast guard ships or cost guards have provoked the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) since late December. 

The Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, Mahfud MD, explained that the sending of fishermen from northern Java was intended to fill local fishing activities as well as the Indonesian government's efforts to protect Natuna from foreign parties.

Especially, foreign fishing vessels which are currently being cacked up by Chinese coast guard vessels. 

Mahfud MD ensured that the government continued to strengthen troops in the North Natuna waters.
