Anticipating Corona Virus in Riau Islands, Government Gather Head of Health Departments

TRIBUNBATAM.id - Riau Islands Provincial Government (Kepri) has prepared an anticipation of Corona virus spread.

First case of Corona virus infection was first reported to spread in China.

For Riau Islands, Head of Riau Islands Health Department (Kadinkes) Tjetjep Yudiana said his party had anticipated the spread of Corona virus.

He had been monitoring both the airports and ports in Riau Islands province since last Sunday.

Head of Riau Islands Provincial Health Department also said he had also gathered district and municipal health offices in Riau Islands province.

To prepare for medical treatment, if he found someone who was indicated to be infected with Corona virus.

"Until now there has been no report related to the discovery of Corona virus into Riau Islands," he said on Saturday (1/18/2020) at BP Batam Hospital.

Tjetjep explained, the initial symptoms suffered by people infected with Corona virus were shortness of breath and high fever.

"Thermo-scans will be placed to detect hot temperatures at the arrival gate of each airport and port," he said.

Tjetjep said, if there are findings that point to people infected with virus, then observations will be made to ensure this.

"If positive is infected with Corona virus, then this person concerned will be placed in isolation rooms in several hospitals.
