Careful of Heavy Rain in A Week Ahead, Here's the List of Areas
The public was asked to be aware of the impact of cataclysm because heavy rainfall is predicted to flush Indonesian territory in the coming week.
TRIBUNBATAM.id - The public was asked to be aware of the impact of cataclysm because heavy rainfall is predicted to flush Indonesian territory in the coming week.
Delivered by the Deputy for Meteorology at the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Department (BMKG), Drs Mulyono R Prabowo MSc, said that the appeal was based on an analysis of cycloneic circulation around the South Indian Ocean in Lampung, which is predicted to be formed on 24 - 26 January 2020.
The cyclone circulation will cause the formation of a pattern of wind convergence, and wind bends in the western part of Indonesia.
In addition, the unstable condition of Indonesia's atmosphere causes the mass of moist air from the lower layer to be easily lifted into the atmosphere.
"These two factors have led to an increase in the growth potential of rain clouds in western Indonesia," Mulyono said in an official release issued by BMKG.
Under these conditions, BMKG predicts that in the coming week, rainfall with heavy intensity and the possibility of lightning could potentially occur in the following regions:
Period 24-26 January 2020
- North Sumatra
- West Sumatra
- Bengkulu
