Unaffected by Corona Virus, Tourism Department Believes Tour de Bintan 2020 Will Rousing

TRIBUNBATAM.id - It is expected that Tour de Bintan 2020 will have no problems with Corona virus issue which is currently becoming a global concern.

Although tourists from China certainly will not be able to attend watching Tour de Bintan 2020 which will be held on 27-29 March 2020 in Bintan Regency, Riau Islands Province.

This was conveyed directly by Head of Bintan Disbudpar (Culture and Tourism Department), Wan Rudi Iskandar, Sunday (02/16/2020).

"Chinese tourists have not joined Tour de Bintan. Participants from Singapore, Australia and other countries. Some participants from Singapore, Australia and others have also registered and will come before Tour de Bintan later," he said.

Wan Rudi also mentioned that Chinese tourists at Lagoi did not enter again.

But Singaporean tourists and others are still in Bintan and in normal condition.

"Hopefully the visit of tourist will still be normal from other countries, apart from China tourists who are certain to do not enter Bintan anymore," he said.

Wanrudi also said, with Tour de Bintan 2020 activity, it became a confirmation destination of Bintan, Riau Islands, free of Corona virus.

"Where tourists can still explore some exotic colors at Tour de Bintan activities later," he said.

Wan Rudi also explained that Tour de Bintan event included in Gran Fondo World Series Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) 10th Edition of  Tour de Bintan 2020 will present five numbers with different venues, the Individual Time Trial number along 175 Km will be held at Plaza Lagoi, Bintan.

Furthermore, Gran Fondo Classic 146 Km and 85 Km Gran Fondo Challenge were held at Simpang Lagoi, Bintan.

"Now on Day 3, it presents 108 Km of Gran Fondo Century and 55 Km of Gran Fondo Discovery at Bintan Lagoon Resort," he said.

Rudi also said, Tour de Bintan was always crowded with enthusiasts. Besides domestic, the bicycle racing event is always flooded with foreign participants.

In Tour de Bintan 2019, the number of participants rose 9% from 2018. For total number of participants, 13% were female racers.

"Interestingly, the slot for foreign participants reached 1,116 names from 48 countries.
