Impact of Corona Virus, Government Discusses the Possibility of Avtur Price Reduction
The government is finalizing regulations on incentives for airlines affected by the Corona virus outbreak since the beginning of this year.
This discussion will be conducted with the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), Erick Thohir and the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Arifin Tasrif. The lower price of aviation fuel is projected to be able to reduce the price of plane tickets.
"If there is a discount made by reducing aviation fuel, then it will be more optimal, one or two days will be a meeting with Mr. Erick and Mr. Arifin for the recommendation of avtur prices," he said, the Ministry of Transportation Building, Jakarta, Friday (21/2 / 2020).
The former Director of PT Angkasa Pura II has not been able to detail how many recommendations for the aviation fuel reduction amount that is currently only provided by PT Pertamina (Persero).
However, based on the calculations carried out by his party with the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, the reduction in the price of aviation fuel will be able to reduce the price of plane tickets by up to 20 percent.
"I imagine that at least some relaxation can drop by 15 to 20 percent," he said.
One of the incentives that will be provided is the reduction of Non-Tax State Revenues (PNBP) paid by airlines. One example is the cost of takeoff and parking at the airport managed by the Ministry of Transportation. (*)
