Hang Nadim Airport Batam Install Thermal Scanner at Domestic Arrival Area

TRIBUNBATAM.id - Anticipating the spread of Corona virus or Covid-19 at Hang Nadim Airport in Batam, the management tightened its supervision at Hang Nadim Airport entrance gate.

Body temperature gauges (thermal scanners) are placed at the door of domestic arrivals.

BUBU Director Hang Nadim Batam Suwarso said the installation of thermal scanners was carried out on Monday (3/16/2020) morning.

"Installation is only done for domestic, while international arrivals have been done for a long time," Suwarso said on Monday.

The installation of this thermal scanner is one early anticipations for handling Covid-19 spread, which is now a serious concern at various regions in Indonesia.

Based on TribunBatam observations, Hang Nadim Airport Port Health Office (KKP) officers check the temperature of passengers who have just arrived.

Meanwhile the airport still looks normal as usual.
