Simulation of Covid-19 Patient Handling,Transported by Hercules,Taken by Ambulances to Galang Island

TRIBUNBATAM.id - The Special Hospital for handling Covid-19 in Galang Island, Batam City is planned to start operating on Monday (3/30/2020). This was stated by Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto while reviewing the completion of the construction of the Covid-19 Special Hospital on Galang Island, Batam, on Wednesday (3/26/2020).

All readiness for the completeness of the hospital, both from physical and supporting health equipment, continues to be brought in from Jakarta using Hercules aircraft owned by the Indonesian Air Force through Batam Hang Nadim Airport. 

On Thursday (3/26/2020) Hercules aircraft belonging to the Indonesian Air Force from Halim Perdana Kusuma 31 Squadron arrived at Batam's Hang Nadim Airport carrying medical equipment to be used at Covid-19 Special Hospital on Galang Island.

After loading and unloading, the Air Force's Hercules aircraft were used to simulate the handling of Covid-19 patients who would later be transported using a modified Hercules plane for Covid-19 patients.

Before the Air Force's Hercules plane arrived, as many as five ambulances were alerted for the simulation process. Two ambulances from Bidokkes Riau Islands Police, ambulance UPT Puskesmas Tanjung Buntung, ambulance UPT Puskesmas Kampung Jabi and ambulances Batam Class I Port Health Office. 

Simulation Process

When the Hercules aircraft that had been modified to transport Covid-19 patients at the apron of the end near Batam's Hang Nadim Airport, several ambulances with complete officers wearing Personal Protective Equipment (APD) clothing headed straight behind the parked Hercules plane.

Upon arriving at the rear door of the plane, fully clothed medical personnel entered the plane to pick up the Covid-19 patient. 

If the patient is a patient who cannot walk, he will be picked up by carrying an isolation stretcher or isolation capsule which is provided in the ambulance and lifted out.

But if the patient can still walk, it will be carried or accompanied out of the plane to the ambulance that has been prepared. (TRIBUNBATAM.ID/ALAMUDIN)
