TRIBUNBATAM.id - The Hang Nadim Airport Authority acknowledges that the number of passengers leaving or arriving through the airport has decreased due to the Coronavirus.
Director of BP Batam Airport and Information and Communication Technology Business Entity Suwarso said the number of passengers dropped by 20 percent from the normal figure.
The reduced number of passengers also has an impact on reducing the frequency of flights.
Now, the number of flight frequencies drops to 30 flights per day.
"There are a lot of reductions. For example, Garuda flights to Jakarta, usually 5 flights per day, now only 1 or 2 flights. Batam to Medan usually 3 flights now only 1 flight. Then to Jakarta, for example, there are Lion, Garuda and Citilink "Garuda is usually 5 times now 1 time, Lion 3 times now 2 times, Citilink 3 times now 2 times," he said.
The airport authority also does not carry out special health checks to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus.
Every passenger who arrives or departs is only checked for body temperature.
