TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM - Indonesian government ensured the readiness of Covid-19 Emergency Hospital on Galang Island, Batam, had reached 96 percent.
Commander of Joint Regional Defense Command (Pangkogabwilhan) I, Vice Admiral Yudo Margono, said the hospital was ready to operate on Monday (6/4) next week.

"Readiness reaches 96 percent. It is expected that April 6, 2020 will be ready, ”said Vice Admiral Yudo Margono at Media Center Task Force for the Acceleration of Covid-19 Handling, Graha National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), Jakarta, Friday (03/04/2020).
Through a written statement, he said Galang Island Hospital was a combination of renovation for former Vietnamese refugee shelter and a new building.
The hospital will have an observation building that can hold 200 beds and one observation building that holds 50 beds.

Then there are several other buildings that have a total capacity up to 460 patients.
As a mobilization, the hospital is equipped with helipad facilities for emergencies by air, as well as a dock that supports the readiness of patient services by sea.
While the distance of hospital from Batam is approximately 30 minutes by road.
He said for its use, Galang Island Hospital would be used for patients with mild and moderate categories, especially for migrants from abroad.
This hospital can also be used for the community if health services or hospitals in their area are unable to accommodate patients.

As a fulfillment of the need for personnel to support operations in Galang Island Hospital, the Integrated Joint Task Command (Kogasgabpad) is preparing to recruit personnel from TNI, Polri and volunteers.
"Currently preparations have been carried out for recruiting personnel from TNI, Polri, and volunteers. Currently have 77 people who are ready," added Vice Admiral Yudo.
