Indonesian Citizens Entrance from Malaysia, Disinfectant Sprayed at Some Areas in Karimun

TRIBUNBATAM.id, KARIMUN - Efforts to break the chain of Covid-19 spread continue to be carried out in Karimun Regency, Riau Islands Province.

As carried out joint agencies and social organizations in Karimun, Tuesday (03/31/2020).

Prevention efforts carried out are by spraying disinfectant liquid in hotels, guesthouses, lodging and money changer in the jurisdiction of Balai Karimun Sector Police.

Balai Karimun Police Chief, AKP Budi Hartono said many Indonesian citizens returned from Malaysia through Karimun District.

Some of them stayed first at the inns in Karimun before returning to their respective home areas.

There are even those who have stayed several days wanting to wait for conditions in Malaysia to be normal.

"We intentionally directed the spraying target to guesthouses, lodgings, hotels and money change. Most of them before being disciplined by the government they transit and staying overnight in hotels, inns and guesthouses near the port," said Budi.

For now, Karimun Subdistrict Government Coordination Forum has been curbing, so Indonesian citizens who are generally migrant workers return to their hometowns.

"But now they have gone to their hometown. To get rid of that anxiety, we are targeting hotels, guesthouses and hotels and money changer," explained Budi.

Spraying was also carried out, Karimun Regency DPRD members from Golkar faction Wiyono, members of National Police, TNI, members of Karimun Regency Patron Organization, members of Karimun Regency Bugis Youth, members of Karimun Malay Community, Bugis Youth Forum and Karimun Apindo.

While Wiyono, who is also Chairperson of Apindo Volunteers and PSMTI, for the handling of Covid-19 Karimun Regency invited all elements to work together in overcoming this problem.
