Batam City Government Allocates IDR 268 Billion for Covid-19 Handling

TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM - Batam City Government (Pemko) has budgeted IDR 268 billion for handling Covid-19.

From this budget, Batam Government has programmed various activities with Health Department, Embung Fatimah Regional Hospital and Social Services in the amount of IDR 205.8 billion.

In addition, Batam Government is known to have allocated a budget through Unexpected Expenditures (BTT) or a Shopping Needs Plan (RKB) of IDR 62.2 billion.

"So there are those who go through the activity program and those who go through BTT budget," said Head of Batam City's Financial and Asset Management Agency (BPKAD), Abdul Malik, in his office on Tuesday (4/21/2020).

Malik explained that Corona virus control fund was used to provide medical devices and consumables for Covid-19 countermeasure at Batam Health Department in the amount of IDR 14.434 billion.

Provision of health facilities and infrastructure for handling Covid-19 at Embung Fatimah Regional Hospital amounting to IDR 11,269 billion.

Then the basic food assistance for Covid-19 affected community amounted to IDR 180.112 billion, and for the use of unexpected expenditures amounted to IDR 62.281 billion.

He admitted the budget was already in Batam City Government (Pemko).

Every OPD activity has been processed and there is an appointment process.

"The budget is available when patient requires payment, we pay. Until today no one has submitted. Because it is an emergency message first and then submitted," he said.

Meanwhile, Malik said there were 3 sources of funding, including: assistance from entrepreneurs in the amount of IDR 8.1 billion, Riau Islands Province budget of remaining IDR 2 billion from Batam City Budget or reallocation of APBD expenditure in the amount of IDR 257.9 billion.

He also detailed the assistance of entrepreneurs to date reaching IDR 8,171,375,461.
