Lion Air Group Management Postponed Plans to Serve Special Flights

TRIBUNBATAM.id - Lion Air Group Management postponed plans to serve special flights starting Sunday (05/03/2020).

Lion Air's Strategic Corporate Communications Danang Mandala Prihantoro said the delay was made because more comprehensive preparations were needed. 

Thus, the implementation of the flight will continue according to applicable regulations.

"Lion Air Group as a whole always coordinates with regulators and various related parties, with the hope that if the flight will be carried out to operate smoothly, so that it can meet the needs of air transportation in accordance with the Minister of Transportation Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number PM 25 of 2020," said Danang in his written statement, Sunday.

Danang explained, the main purpose of the special licensing operation was a form of sincerity in helping ease mobilization to serve business people, not for travelers.

"Lion Air Group expressed its apology for the inconvenience caused," said Danang.

Danang asked potential customers who had booked airplane tickets during this period to refund through Lion Air Group's Ticketing Town Office in all cities in Indonesia.

Lion Air Group complies with and implements all international aviation rules, regulators, and company regulations in carrying out operations.

Previously, Lion Air Group will resume operations from May 3, 2020. However, the operation is only to serve certain flights that are allowed by the Ministry of Transportation.

Special flights are permitted, namely cargo transportation, business travelers not going home, flights for leaders of Indonesian state institutions, or state guests. 

Then the operational embassies, representatives of international organizations that have a position in Indonesia.

In addition, operational flights are law enforcement, order and emergency services, special flight services (repatriation) for the repatriation of Indonesian Citizens or Foreign Citizens. (*)
