Transmission of Covid-19, Health Department Calls Batam Center a New Epicenter

TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM - After a few days the spread of Covid-19 in Batam City is sloping, positive patients are now worrying again.

Not without reason, in a day, 4 patients were confirmed positive for Covid-19 on Monday (4/5/2020), after the Batam Covid-19 Task Force Team released data on the development of Covid-19.

The four patients consisted of two female patients and two male patients with different professions.

Responding to this, Head of  Batam City Health Department (Kadinkes), Didi Kusmarjadi also commented.

He said, at this time, Batam Center became a new epicenter area.

This is because Covid-19 cases in this area is relatively large.

"Yes, at Batam Center, there are currently 17 cases," he said.

He also suggested that the application of district level restrictions be carried out.

"That's still a plan," he continued.

Recorded in the latest data as of May 4, 2020, there were 55 Patients Under Supervision (PDP) and 19 people confirmed positive for Covid-19.

Even the latest information circulating that says if the patient is confirmed positive Covid-19 in one of  Batam Center area again increased.

This information has been circulating from one Whatsapp group to another.

But there has been no official statement from the parties involved.
