Record of 1,331 New Cases of Covid-19 in Indonesia, Here are the 4 Trigger Factors

TRIBUNBATAM.id - The number of cases of coronavirus infection in Indonesia still shows an increase from day to day.

Noted, there were 1,331 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours on Thursday (6/18/2020).

The number of new cases is the highest daily addition record in the Covid-19 case record in Indonesia.

The number of positive confirmations was obtained after examination of 20,650 specimens in a day.

Meanwhile, the total examination to date, there are 580,522 specimens from 358,659 people taken samples. That is, one specimen can be taken more than once. 

The epidemiologist, who is also a Covid-19 Task Force Spokesperson for the UNS Hospital, Tonang Dwi Ardyanto rate, there are four main factors triggering the high number of new cases of Covid-19. 

1. Easing public activities

Tonang said, the government's policy on Large Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) and easing, must be recognized as a difficult and bitter choice.

"Like a brake and gas. If you keep braking, the risk is that everything will stop. Nothing will happen. If you continue to be gassed full, the risk can be out of control," Tonang said when contacted by Kompas.com, Thursday (6/6/2020).

According to him, this has not yet been able to find a balance between the gas and the brake.

2. Unclear stages and criteria of government policy

In seeking a balance between the 'gas and brakes' discussed earlier, Tonang argues that clear leadership and policy direction is needed from the government.

According to him, this must be clear and delivered from the start. So, people get a reference or handle in everyday life. 

3. The 'aggressive testing' factor

Besides the two previous factors, the soaring case of Covid-19 in Indonesia according to Tonang is due to aggressive testing factors.
