UPDATE: Increased by 1,178, Covid-19 Cases in Indonesia Exceeded 50.000

TRIBUNBATAM.id - Government Spokesperson for Covid-19 Handling, Achmad Yurianto stated that Indonesia is still facing coronavirus transmission to date.

The transmission has even caused the Covid-19 case in Indonesia till now exceed 50,000 patients, since the coronavirus was recorded in the country.

Based on government data that entering until Thursday (6/25/2020) at 12.00 WIB, there are currently 50,187 Covid-19 cases in Indonesia, as of the first case announced on March 2, 2020.

The number is due to the addition of 1,178 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. 

The latest information about Covid-19 was conveyed by Achmad Yurianto at a press conference from Graha BNPB in Jakarta on Thursday afternoon.

"From the examination today, there are 1,178 positive cases, so the total is 50,187," Yurianto said. 

The number of 1,178 new cases was obtained from examinations of 19,510 specimens in a day.

The examination increased the total number of specimens examined to 708,962 specimens from 427,158 people. This means that one specimen can be sampled more than once.

Based on its distribution, it is known that there are five provinces that record high transmission rates. East Java recorded the highest number with 247 new cases.

Next, there are DKI Jakarta with 196 new cases, South Sulawesi with 103 new cases, North Maluku with 80 new cases, and Central Java with 78 new cases. 

The data of patient who recovered and died 

In the same period, there were an additional 791 recovered Covid-19 patients.

They were declared cured after examination with a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method showing negative results on the coronavirus.

Thus, up to now, there are as many as 20,449 Covid-19 patients in Indonesia recovering.
