TRIBUNBATAM.id - Communication Team Member of the Task Force for the Covid-19 Handling Acceleration, Dr Reisa Broto Asmoro reminded that people who have started the habit of exercising in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic can pay attention to the level of risk of coronavirus transmission from the exercise.

There are two types of risks from exercise activities carried out by the community, namely low risk, and high risk. Types of sports that are included in the low risk of exposure to Covid-19 are sports performed at home, alone or with family members, and using their own equipment.

"It is better to prioritize this type during the Covid-19 pandemic that is still ongoing," said Reisa at Graha BNPB, Jakarta, Sunday (6/28/2020).

Meanwhile, exercise with a high level of risk exposed to Covid-19 are types of exercise performed in public and group places, as well as using shared equipment interchangeably.

"If you have diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, pulmonary disorders, and kidney disorders, immuno compromise conditions, autoimmune conditions and being pregnant, you should avoid this type of exercise," she said.

During the adaptation of new habits, she added, the potential for joint exercise activities in public places will begin to increase.

The government, she said, didn't question if people want to return to exercise in public places. Because exercise also has a positive function to increase one's immunity.

However, there are five things that must be considered if the public wants to carry out in public places.

First, exercise should be carried out without moving places, or the exercise is carried out in a parallel position a minimum of 2 meters from other people.

"Second, for the sport of walking, try to be 5 meters away from the person in front of you," she said.

Next, for those who want to run, you should maintain a distance of 10 meters from the person in front of you.

Keep your distance, she added, also applies to those who want to bike, at least 20 meters from the person in front of you.

"Fifth, after exercising, remember, to always wash hands immediately, take a shower, change clothes, and clean our exercise equipment and luggage such as cellphones, glasses, bags and other luggage with disinfectant liquid," said Reisa. (*)
