Prepare for 'New Normal', The Government Continues to Focus on 3 Aspects of Policy

TRIBUNBATAM.id - Indonesian President, Joko Widodo has adopted a policy that focuses on three aspects, namely health, economic and social.

This was conveyed by the Minister of Administrative Reform and Bureaucracy Reform (Menpan RB), Tjahjo Kumolo in a web seminar (Webinar) entitled Learning from Covid-19 Experiences: State and Society's Perspective, Saturday (27/06/2020).

According to him, the policy was carried out so that the community's recovery rate was always increasing and health protocols could be carried out optimally. 

"Therefore, the Government issued a policy of Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) in accordance with the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO) to break the Covid-19 chain," Tjahjo said in a written statement. 

However, the government is considering not locking up, but rather limiting social activities by complying with established protocols.

"In addition, the increase in the number of swab test examination capacities continues to be increased," added Minister Tjahjo.

In the webinar organized by the State College of Administrative Sciences-State Administration Institution (STIA-LAN), he said that government policy, related to economic aspects is to provide credit payment relaxation.

"In addition, the Government also provides tax payment discounts, exemption from electricity payments for the poor, and so on," said the Menpan RB.

The government has helped strengthen the social security network for the people affected by this pandemic by providing direct assistance for at least the next 6 months.

With these various efforts, it is hoped that the curve can become sloping so that in August, the government can consolidate to prepare for a New Normal life or a new normal order.

Then, Director of the Polytechnic STIA LAN Jakarta, Nurliah Nurdin said, In addition to cash assistance, there is also a Large-Scale Social Collaboration program (KSBB) which is run in the Capital City. 

"The aim of the program is to increase community resilience, especially for the poor," he explained. 

The beneficiaries of the program include underprivileged residents, children in orphanages and boarding schools, as well as nursing homes and other social institutions. (*)
