Harmoni One Hotel Batam Employees Was Strike, Here Is The Reason

TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM - Dozens of employees in Harmoni One Hotel & Convention Center, held a strike on Friday (24/7/2020).

They filled the hotel lobby area, located at Jalan Raja M Tahir Number 1, Teluk Tering, Batam, Riau Islands.

Based on other observations in the hotel there is no activity.

Only the main door is open and the inside of the hotel is dark.

Chairperson of PUK SPSI Harmoni One Hotel, Wayhu said, the reason they were strike was related to employee rights issues.

He said, hotel operations were closed since April 1, 2020.

From there, they were laid off and management promised to pay 50 percent of the salary.

"Of these 50 percent are paid twice more in a month.

Their reason is because there is no hotel revenue. It makes sense, but let's discuss it carefully.

Because there has been no agreement. So, we are on strike," he said.

He said, there were 56 employees taking part in the union.

While around 100 other employees are non-union. Some are still working.

"We ask for a full salary. Because it is clear, we are disadvantaged.

There is something else related to management policies that harm us," he said.
