UPDATE: Covid-19 Case in Indonesia Reaches 115,056, Increases 1,922

TRIBUNBATAM.id - Indonesia has been experiencing a Covid-19 pandemic for five months, but until now there has been no sign of the number of cases declining.

Government data shows that there is still corona virus transmission in the community.

This is based on data submitted by the Covid-19 Handling Task Force through the Covid19.go.id website, which was accessed by Kompas.com on Tuesday afternoon. 

Based on government data that entered until Tuesday (4/8/2020) at 12.00 WIB, there were 1,922 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.

The addition of these patients has caused 115,056 cases of Covid-19 in Indonesia, starting from the announcement of the first case on March 2, 2020.

A total of 1,922 new cases were identified after examination of 22,902 specimens from 13,456 people were sampled.

In total, the government has examined 1,575,043 specimens from 907,987 people whose samples were taken. That is, one person can undergo examinations more than once. 

Patients who recover

In the same data, the government also expressed hope that more and more Covid-19 patients will recover.

There were an additional 1,813 Covid-19 patients recovering in a day.

They were declared cured after two tests using the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method showed negative results from the coronavirus. 

Thus, a total of 72,050 patients were declared cured of Covid-19 and were no longer infected with the coronavirus. (*)
