Telkom Building in Pekanbaru Burned Down, Telkomsel Network Totally Off

TRIBUNBATAM.id - A fire struck the Telkom building on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, Pekanbaru City, Riau, Tuesday (11/8/2020) afternoon, around 14.30 WIB.

This fire resulted in a total blackout. The internet network and telephone provider Telkomsel cannot be connected.

Based on the observation of Kompas.com, until now, firefighters (Damkar) in Pekanbaru City are still carrying out blackouts. There were six units of fire trucks apparently being deployed. 

However, the officers are still cooling down in anticipation of a fire resurfacing.  

The building that caught fire was a building behind Telkom's main building.

Some of the windows were smashed and the walls were black.

A number of workers at the telkom office filled the building yard to witness the blackout.

Danton Pleton Yudha Damkar Pekanbaru, Tengku Afrizal Kadri when met at the location said that the fire had been successfully controlled. 

"The fire has been successfully extinguished. We are currently conducting searches in anticipation of a fire in the building," Afrizal told Kompas.com, Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the shutdown of the internet and telkomsel network had made residents wonder. 

Until now, the internet and telkomsel network cannot be accessed. (*)
