New Rules, Inter-Islands Passengers in Karimun Required To Bring a Covid-19 Health Letter

TRIBUNBATAM.id, KARIMUN - After the discovery of seven new Covid-19 cases in Karimun Regency, the local government has increasingly tightened supervision at the entrance.

Previously, a Covid-19 free health letter was only required for passengers who came from outside Karimun Regency.

However, currently inter-island passengers in Karimun also have to submit a health letter from the Health Office or Public Health Center ( Puskesmas).

The Regent of Karimun, Aunur Rafiq said, if he did not include a health letter, he would be directed to immediately take care of it at the Puskesmas in the destination area.

"From any island, you must include a health letter. If you don't bring it, then we direct it to the nearest Puskesmas for a health check.

"It is not justified to continue the journey until the health is confirmed," said Rafiq.

Meanwhile, ship passengers from outside the area who do not carry a healthy letter will be refused entry to Karimun, and will be directed back to their area by using the next ship.

"If he is a resident outside the area who does not carry a health letter at all, then we ask him to go back on the next boat," said Rafiq.

Rafiq said the intensity of the departure of inter-island ships at the KPK Port was very high. This includes Kundur Island which is the red zone, so an in-depth study is needed.
