The Number of Covid-19 Red Zone is Down, But The Orange Zones are getting Up

TRIBUNBATAM.id - Spokesperson for the Covid-19 Task Force, Wiku Adisasmito, revealed that there had been a decrease in the number of red zones or high-risk zones for Covid-19 in the past week. 

However, the number of orange zones, or moderate risk, has also increased.

"The number of high risk areas (red) has decreased to 29 regencies / cities, previously 32," said Wiku in a virtual press statement from the Presidential Palace, Tuesday (18/8/2020).

"There are 237 districts / cities in the medium risk zone (orange). This is also increasing, previously 222," continued Wiku. 

The data presented by Wiku is data taken as of August 16, 2020.

Wiku continued, there are currently 174 districts / cities in the low or yellow risk zone. This number was reduced from the previous week, namely 177 regions.

"The green zone has also decreased, from 82 to 74 regencies / cities," he continued.

Wiku said the decline in the red zone is good news.

That means, a number of high-risk areas have succeeded in suppressing the spread of the virus. However, Wiku also highlighted the growing orange zone.

According to him, this moderate risk zone should also be the concern of each regional government. 

"From time to time, the risk zone is being increased from July to August 16," said Wiku.

The total number of Covid-19 patients who recovered and were no longer infected with the corona virus reached 96,306 people. While the death rate for Covid-19 patients reached 6,277 people. (*)
