STARTING Monday (24/8), Batam-Dumai Shipping at Sekupang Domestic Port Officially Opens

TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM - Good news for Batam residents who want to travel to Dumai.

Starting today, Monday (24/8/2020) sailing for ships to Dumai is officially reopened at Sekupang Domestic Port.

The plan is for the ship to Batam-Dumai to operate today from Sekupang Domestic Port.

It is known, it has been five months since the ship to the port of Sri Junjungan, Dumai, Riau Province was not operating.

The reopening of shipping flows from Sekupang Domestic Port to Dumai, Riau is also good news for port officials.

Not without reason, shipping operations back to normal will increase the number of passengers at the port.

The reason is, since the Covid-19 pandemic, the report on Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) received by KSOP port managers has decreased significantly.

Not only that, even the canteen to the port porters who depend on the port to earn a living had complained about this condition.

Public Relations Office of Port Authority (KSOP) in Batam City, Aina, when contacted, said that her party had received a letter of notification of the reopening for shipping to Dumai ships.

"Based on a letter from PT. Lestari Indoma Bahari, the shipping service provider for Dumai Ekpres Group ship agent, starting tomorrow Monday, will sail back to Dumai, Riau," he said, Sunday (23/8/2020).

For shipping routes, he said, from Sekupang Domestic ports - Tanjung Balai Karimun - Selat Panjang - Bengkalis and Dumai.

The departure schedule for the cruise departs at 07.00 WIB.

"Yes, hopefully it will return to normal, run as usual. Even for the voyage to Dumai, which has been stopped for nearly 5 months, many have asked me, when will the ship operate," said Aina.

He also invited every passenger who was going to sail to adhere to health protocols as recommended by the government.
