TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM - A number of videos circulating on social media groups related to the whirlwind incident, Saturday (22/8/2020) afternoon at around 13.30 WIB.

From the information circulating, the incident occurred around Bengkong area, Batam, Riau Islands.

Starting from Ocarina leads to the Nayon River, Bengkong Sadai. There is also a mention that a tornado occurred around Tanjung Buntung, Bengkong.

The video shows a gale of wind, while the color of the sky nearby is dark.

Zinc and a number of other items flew in the wind because they were so strong.

"Allah ... Allah," said someone while recording a whirlwind on the 39-second video.

In another video, motorcyclists and cars are seen stopping their vehicles because they saw the strong winds.

"Allahu Akbar ... Allahu Akbar," said one man.

He also admitted that he was quite "horrified" to see the gale of wind, especially if it was under the whirlwind.

A resident of Bengkong, Fitri confirmed there were strong winds.

But at that time she did not see it directly because she was in the house.

"Earlier a friend told me there was a tornado. He said it was near Tanjung Buntung," said Fitri to Tribunbatam.id.

It is not certain whether there were any casualties in this high wind incident. Includes the amount of material loss.

Meanwhile, from the photos after the strong winds, it was seen that several roofs of residents' houses were damaged. The zinc scattered.
