63 Employees of PT Infenion Exposed to Covid-19, Health Department Ask Companies to Lockdown

TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM - The case of Corona virus or Covid-19 pandemic in Batam has again shown a spike in new cases.

Reporting from the official length of Riau Islands Covid-19 Task Force, there were 67 additional positive cases of Corona virus in Batam, Tuesday (22/9/2020).

According to Tribunbatam.id, out of a total of 67 new cases of Covid-19, the most cases actually came from employee clusters in two companies in the Batamindo area, Mukakuning and Panbil, Batam.

Based on data from the Batam City Health Office, there are 63 employees of PT. Infenion Mukakuning who was exposed to Covid-19.

The number of exposed PT employees will increase if it is counted again with employees from PT. Philips.

"Employees of PT. Philips just got a swab test yesterday. In the afternoon the results will come out," said Didi.

Covid-19 Patients in Tanjungpinang Increased by 7 Cases

Currently, employees who have been exposed to Covid-19 have been referred to the Galang Hospital.

Responding to this, Head of Batam City Health Department, Didi Kusmarjadi spoke up.

Didi hopes that there will be actions to anticipate the re-transmission of Covid-19 by the company.

Didi also recommended that two companies found in Covid-19 cases temporarily stop activities or lockdown.

"Therefore, I have sent a letter of recommendation so that the two universities will be temporarily locked down," said Didi when interviewed by TRIBUNBATAM.id.

According to Didi, the temporary lockdown for 14 days must be carried out by Batam City Covid-19 Handling Task Force Team to stop the spread of virus in the area. (TribunBatam.id)
