Singapore's Entrance to Batam hasn't been Decided,Kemenlu Give an Option Apartfrom Batam Center Port

TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM - Director of Southeast Asia at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemenlu), Denny Abdi, admitted that Singapore has provided advice to Indonesia. 

That is ahead of the enactment of the Travel Corridor Arrangement (TCA) or Reciprocal Green Lane (RGL) on 26 October 2020. 

He said, because this TCA is only a trial, so that only 1 point of entry for airports and 1 point of port has been determined. 

"If we talk about Indonesia-Singapore, there are air and sea routes," he said, Wednesday (21/10/2020) on the sidelines of reviewing readiness at Batam Center International Port. 

As for the airport, he continued, Changi will partner with Soekarno Hatta Airport. For the port, Singapore has designated Tanah Merah Port, while its partner - the port in Indonesia is still under review. 

Denny admitted that some time ago, the Foreign Minister had mentioned that based on the information available at the center, when discussing this matter, the most readiness was at Batam Center International Port.

However, when they had an audience with the Ad-interim Governor and Ad-interim Mayor, they provided another inspiration. 

From the results of this review, he has not been able to provide an assessment of several ports. He admitted that his party was still in discussion with Singapore. 

Previously, based on the release of the Minister of Foreign Affairs some time ago, there were two points of entry and exit for the time being. Namely, Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal Singapore – Batam Center Ferry Terminal Batam, that is the first entrance if using a ferry.

The second entrance is Soekarno-Hatta International Airport and Changi International Airport.
