Approaching the Christmas Homecoming, Passenger Flow in Batu Ampar Port Increases

TRIBUNBATAM.id, BATAM - Approaching Christmas and New Year 2021, 217 passengers of KM Kelud ship arrived at Batu Ampar port, Batam, Wednesday (16/12/2020) afternoon. 

Hundreds of KM Kelud passengers previously departed from Belawan Port, Medan, North Sumatra. 

From the observation of Tribun Batam.id around Batu Ampar port, these passengers got off the ship in an orderly manner and followed the direction of the port security officer. 

Passengers are orderly and wear masks, and adhere to health protocols. 

KM Kelud arrives in Batam at around 11.30 WIB from Belawan port and sails back at 14.00 WIB with the next destination, namely Tanjung Priok Port, Jakarta. 

Meanwhile, Lukman, operational staff of PT Pelni Batam, when met by Tribun Batam at Batu Ampar Port, said that on this voyage, both boarding and disembarking passengers experienced a surge of around 10 percent.

The increase in the number of passengers is not only for passengers who will depart, but also for passengers who will get off in Batam. 

Meanwhile, entering the Christmas and New Year homecoming, the Batam Port Management Agency (BPPB), as the manager of the Batu Ampar Port, has tightened security at Batu Ampar Port.
